What is the most popular word in south Florida? Season! When Mother's Day passes we officially enter out of season. When the boat show comes to town we are officially in season. The word season is code for business. Why so much talk about "the season"? Because it gets hot in South Florida. We are close to the equator and pretty much have Summer weather all year long. Snow birds flock down in the winter to get away from the North Eastern blizzards and chills and when they hit the Florida heat they immediately want to revive their homes with fresh flowers and plants. We love it! It's a big boost to business and moral. However; once the chill passes and temperatures heat up down here; people hop back onto whatever brought them down and head back North to the not so sweltering heat. Weekly orders take a stand still and yachts that had to have fresh cut flowers daily; are now out to sea and wont return again until October. How do we stay busy? Brides, baby showers and bereavement. The three "B's" that keep the lights on. We are just as grateful in the busy season as we are in the off season. A wise person once said, "For everything there is a season." And it's true. We had an amazing season and look forward to many more. It's part of the SoFlo life and all the locals know...the next season will be here before we know it :)
