This flower is new to me. I have seen candles that advertise it's sweet aroma. I have seen numerous brides request it for their weddings. I have even done an emergency trip to Miami to get some just for one bride. She had to have them! What is it about the peonies that makes it so special? This flower is known to represent romance, prosperity, good fortune, a happy marriage, riches, honor, and compassion. That makes since, especially in white but there are myths behind it's origin. Both stories I found are based on mythology and make this flower out to be the product of jealousy, anger and punishment. The flower and the myths are no match. When I look at the peony I only see another beautiful part of creation. A mystery to be discovered and I am right because the photo above is of a fully bloomed peony and it is spectacular! For something to go from as small as a cotton ball to as big as a hydrangea is mind blowing! When we opened the cooler to find this delight I was driven to take a picture; also to claim it for myself but the bride is coming back ;) What I captured does not compare to the in person experience of seeing this grand flower and enjoy it's sweet, pure smell of life. Take time to smell the peonies.
