Manic Monday

Manic Monday

Mother's Day was a hit. A seamless dance routine that went off smoothly. We all had our part and performed it to perfection and then; Monday hit. With what little energy we all  had we used it to get into work today. Ready to handle whatever hiccups happened over the weekend. No negative feedback and no real complaints and then..."BOOM"; literally the sound that shook the whole street. A loud boom from an electrical box that took the power from 38 businesses and homes in the area including our design center. To walk into the work room is to walk into pitch blackness but fear not because we can make it work. Until we realized the high powered cooler getting warm. With the temperature change being so sudden, several of the flowers are not adjusting well. The main one? The tulips. Their little heads are popping off left and right as their stem gets to weak to support the weight and since all the flowers are fully hydrated most of the stems are going to mush as the environment gets warmer and warmer. In Steven's own words, "I have been through hurricanes and this is still worse." After such an amazing pre Mother's Day week and even a successful Mother's Day; to start off a new week like this is well; not ideal but what can we do. At Victoria Park Flower Studio we make it work. We always have and always will.

"You should never view your challenges as a disadvantage. Instead, it's important for you to understand that your experience facing and overcoming adversity is actually one of your biggest advantages."
