When our very own Steven Turner went to Honduras over the Summer he took his talents and his heart with him. Besides teaching design classes; he and the AHLE group gave out tennis shoes to boys in need. They got such an out pour of shoes that each boy got to pick his own pair. Steven remembers one young lad not being able to find a pair that fit and the one pair that did had pink shoe laces. "He looked terrified," Steven recalls. "So I found a pair of soccer shoes, took out the black laces and put them in the shoes for him." The experience was awesome and philanthropist Suzanne Ines White says, "Shoes for all! Thanks to Susan Andruch Mishkin's efforts and all who donated, so all the children could have a new pair of shoes, something that we take for granted. We are so blessed to have those that open their hearts to our small grassroots foundation. ajccf.org." She is so right. Something some of us take for granted is a treasured gift just an ocean away.
